Sorry if you were worried that Toki wasn't coming out. I first thought maybe I could release it by mid-week but that turned out to be too optimistic. Anyway, now you get to enjoy Saki and Toki together. This was the normal realistic schedule anyway.
Saki. The lieutenant match is heating up!
Toki. One step closer to solving the mystery of Fujishiro Nanami.
Arm wrecked or not, Hisa is Hisa indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the translation!
ReplyDeletePage 9 is probably the first time we see this character in Toki. Something must have happened between her and Nacchan.
That’s not someone we’ve ever seen anywhere, is it? I don’t immediately recognize that silhouette.
DeleteWe see it for the first time in Toki. I don't know as I just started reading the main story and Shinohayu.
DeleteI don't recognize her either. Could be a younger version of some character from Saki but it may just be a completely new girl.
DeleteI expected Hisa might aim to end her match as quickly as possible to kill two birds with one stone: her painkillers’ effect doesn’t last forever, and there’s Shibuya at the table. But I suppose defying expectations is exactly what Hisa does :-)
ReplyDeleteExactly. That's very much Hisa style.
DeleteAnother reason is that Hisa wouldn't want her injury to affect her play, I imagine.
Thanks for the translation! I see Hisa is going for the risky play, as usual^^ Expecting to be able to not get ronned by Shibuya might be overconfident. If she gets too many tile she could get into a unknown pair wait.
ReplyDeleteIt's a risky plan indeed, it might not work as planned. But even without dealer repeats, Takami could still win a yakuman anyway. So might as well make the best of your dealer turn.
Delete> Expecting to be able to not get ronned by Shibuya might be overconfident.
DeleteI can see her going straight for Shibuya getting a Tenhou at this rate.
Thanks for the chapter
ReplyDeleteIt was funny that Ako thought of Hisa as a nice person I mean, when Hisa plays mahjong, she's not like that I wonder how Myeonghwa will respond to Hisa's tactic
Yes, Choe's reaction is key here.
DeleteBundo-san can confirm :)
DeleteOne thing that I believe we don't know is what happens if a hanchan has so many dealer repeats that it gets over 13 hands. In that case, what would happen to Takami's hand in the last round? Would her initial hand consist only of the first 13 hands, or the 13 last hands? I wonder if Hisa is trying to find that out.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that's a really good question.
DeleteIt would be really cool if after the 13th hand, Takami's first discards don't form a yakuman so the potential yakuman gets "erased" with every additional hand.
Thanks again for another release. I always really appreciate them!!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
