As expected, the "character contest" that was recently announced will be a popularity poll to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Young Gangan magazine where Saki is published. Additionally, the 9 most voted characters will enter some kind of lottery to receive special art drawn by Ritz. Nine characters is because of the Nine Gates yakuman. Voting is in September so the results won't be known until at least October.
Also, no Toki chapter this month. Mekimeki might be busy with Comiket or something...

DeleteIt's unlikely Saki related content but Ritz commissioned cover art is nice. Ritz also drew Touka for the cover of "Mahjong Manga 50 Year History" recently.
What did Kokoro mean that "the plan is already in motion?" Is it that one player is now in the bust-able range, and so that helps trigger's Shino's combo? Thinking back, Hayari was also really adamant about not being in bustable range when they were playing against the pros.
ReplyDeleteMy interpretation is that she's ready to provide tiles for Shino to call (that's the "support" mentioned later). And she "knows" Shino is going to do her thing and win the match.
