ReplyDeleteThanks for your translation. Yes, it might be that the author(s) put two issues in 1 chapter since they have a hiatus. By the way, the plot is getting more and more interesting, and my opinion is that chapter 1-45 is only the foreshadowing, after chapter 45 the "real" Toki begins. There are many questions unsolved, for example who is the eye-patched girl and where she is now, and the real relation between her and Fujishiro nanami. The other is the vanguard of Ouka, Shirosaka Kaori, what character would she be later (for example in high school arc, the relation with her and Senriyama). The third one is the development of Toki, Ryuuka, Sera and Fujishiro, as we know from Saki chapter 156, Fujishiro was the main player in Senriyama high school representatives. Since Fujishiro is the third year student in junior high school in this arc, the following chapters of Toki may be describing how did she chose to join Senriyama high school after that, maybe be influenced by Toki, Ryuuka, Sera, Muroto? We don't know. I doubt that at the end in Senriyama high school arc, Shirosaka, Fujishiro, Sonezaki and Muroto would all meet in Senriyama? What does Akio think about it?

DeleteFujishiro, yes, she'll probably be influenced by Toki and the others but we also saw that Senriyama's manager has her eye on her already.
I wonder if the story will progress to a "high school arc" someday. It would be nice to see Fujishiro vs Teru and all that.

Delete1. For the eye-patch girl, from the Fujishiro's description, it seems that the eye-patch girl is a student of Kitano. One can ask a question: Why we don't see the eye-patch girl in Kitano mahjong club? Actually, only Fujishiro and the short-hair girl besides her are portrayed, others in Kitano mahjong club only has one or few scenes. Maybe she is one of them, but due to the secrets of the plot, the author intentionally neglects eye-patch girl. She is maybe a strong mahjong player, too. Or this is not the case. Or maybe she has relation with Shimeki Natsu. This is only my guess because it is truly unpredictable.
2. For Fujishiro joins Senriyama high school. I think after this middle school regional championship in Osaka and championship of the whole country, we may able to see Senriyama middle's people meeting their high school team manager (Atago, mother of Hiroe). Maybe the next meet of Toki and others with Fujishiro is under the observation of that manager as well. Let's see who approaches Fujishiro first, Sera, Ryuuka/Toki, manager Atago, or others (for example Muroto, Sonezaki or even eye-patch girl), or several people at the same time.
3.Guess how many chapters will Saki main series take to finish the whole team championship arc? And for New Achiga arc, is it on indefinite hiatus or actually ended?
Interesting. Somehow, I had a feeling eyepatch girl is not part of Kitano but yeah maybe she is intentionally hidden.

My thought on eye-patch girl is exactly the opposite of your feeling. I suggest that eye-patch girl is the captain of Kitano's team. The reason I do this prediction is that in order to let Fujishiro attract more attention by professional players such as manager Atago, Kitano should be seen having a higher rank in the tournament so they would not be neglected (because to seek high rank in individual tournament is also very difficult). The other reason is that I am sure that eye-patch girl is not Tsuiki Moko because Tsuiki in Saki main arc is high school freshman, this arc in Toki is 6 years before Saki main arc, which is utterly impossible to match eye-patch girl. I think this character has her special position in this timeline; if she is useless, then why does author create her in Fujishiro's memories? I think she may be like Amae Koromo, an eccentric and maverick-like person who does not behave or appear like ordinary people.
