Long chapter! 50 pages!! Wow! And a bunch of glimpses and teases in the middle. First appearance! (probably still a long time till she plays any role in the story though).
About the chapter's title: 'black kite eye(s)' in Japanese is the same as 'eagle eye(s)' in English. It means sharp visual skills, keen eye for detail, etc. But since the "bird element" is important in Shinohayu, I'm leaving the literal translation.
There was also a minor error in page 26. It was pointed out in Ritz's blog. The wrong tiles were highlighted. It's been corrected in the translation.
Shinohayu ch62 (Mega)
Shinohayu ch62 (Mediafire)
>Shinohayu anime when?
ReplyDeleteAny minute now! Just let Ono finish 50 episodes split-cour SAO adaptation, then let us get finally semi-finals and loser-hen of Saki proper, and then we will have Shino anime.
At least that's what I will keep believing in.
Well, it mostly depends on Square Enix and whether they decide to promote the manga someday but it might happen.
DeleteThe black kite is called "tobi" (トビ) in Japanese, which is also the term for busting out in mahjong.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, nice catch.
DeleteUhh.
ReplyDeleteShinohayu anime, 3rd season of Saki main, yeah... :)
Thx for translations :)
Thanks! Tanoshii~
ReplyDeletepg 3, "she changed to winning with with", says "with" twice
ReplyDeleteFixed.
Deletewhose that girl on page 18 who looks like shizuno?
ReplyDeleteIf you are about girl that is to the left and down of Shino it's Akado Harue, I think.
DeleteI think Serene means the one with the ponytail on the next page. She might be a new character. All the girls/future pros that we already knew are shown from the front, even Grandmaster. So if the face of that ponytail girl is not shown is probably because we wouldn't recognize her anyway.
DeleteBy the way, in case someone didn't recognize them...
DeleteIn that same page:
top left: Noyori Risa
bottom right: Akasaka Ikuno
big panel on the next page: Kokaji Sukoya
Slightly disappointed that those leaves don’t seem to be mukunoki leaves: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Leaves_of_Muku-Tree,_Aphananthe_aspera.jpg
ReplyDeleteI see, they look quite different. Perhaps the name doesn't have any special meaning in the story.
