Saki. The original title for this chapter (星行 seikou) is one of those poetic words with a very specific meaning that are never used in normal conversation. Ritz often uses these kind of words for chapter titles. In this case, it means something like "to leave the house very early in the morning when it's still dark and the stars shine overhead". The only thing that matters here is the word "star" since, in case you didn't know, Oohoshi means "big star" and Ritz usually uses star-related words for anything Awai-related.
Also, Ritz pointed out a scoring mistake which was corrected in the translation.
Toki. Mekimeki did their best coloring Toki's eye in page 4 (it's an important eye...). On the other hand, you'll notice that in Saki's color pages, the coloring is too plain (Ritz admitted to that and promised to fix it for the volume release).
Thanks for the translation!
ReplyDeleteBut still, yet another yakuman power... I'm getting a bit bored of those.
The Toki chapter was cool though.
Yeah, I see your point but with these monsters if a power doesn't get you yakuman, you're toast.
DeleteThanks for the chapter. Future Toki met past Toki.
ReplyDeleteI was expecting the yakuman, but never though it was that specific one. After all it's rarely used.
Tsuuiisou is very rare, yes. But Big Seven Stars was half-expected given Awai's connection to stars.
DeleteThanks again.
ReplyDeleteDo u guy know anh active community discuss about saki manga?

DeleteThx for translations!
ReplyDeleteSo, the last yakuman hasn't shown up yet, obviously the 4 kans yakuman. Maybe it'll happen in the very last round where Saki directly hits Awai through a daimin kan.
ReplyDeletewe haven't seen a chihou too.
Deletebut yes, the daimin kan, very reminiscent to saki hitting komoro
is it the end of 1st hanchan or not? If so, it seem impossible to Saki to win except with miracles.
ReplyDeleteNot the end yet. We are in South 1.
DeleteAnd then there's the whole 2nd hanchan.
Who are the dealers in the next south games? I hope it's not one man show again. It's look like Nelly, Saki and Shizuno are going to be seriously to stopping Awai's moves in the next chapters.
DeleteNelly was dealer in South 1 so next is
DeleteSaki → Shizu → Awai.
it never been a one man show for the captain's match. every character gets a moment to shine.
DeleteOn a different note, the translator that dla did the saki re spin off(its the male one) finally did the latest chapter. So we're pretty much done with all the saki manga
ReplyDeleteI don't really have anywhere else to post that than here, so here I go.
ReplyDeleteI had a Saki dream this night. They suddenly showed a part of the next Saki anime where they teased a future part of the finals. In it, Awai was in a regular double riichi round. At some point, Saki feels Awai kan material arrive and calls pon on a 🀔. This prevents Awai's kan and Saki mentally mentions Kyouko. A bit later, before the end of the wall, Saki draws the last 🀔 and thinks "another rinshan kaihou" but stops herself before kanning. "Drawing that tile so close to the end feels too easy. Didn't someone talk about someone controlling the deep mountains?" and then we cut to some mental imagery with Shizuno (which, strangely enough, happens indoor).
That's when the dream transitioned to stuff that have nothing to do with Saki.
But, all in all, the dream was surprisingly coherent. I could see something like happening with Saki narrowly dodging a chankan.
I know this isn't the best place to post that, but I thought some people might find it interesting.
The eyes and the backgrounds are very pretty indeed, but it looks like something terrible happened to Toki’s anatomy on page 6!
ReplyDeleteIs the front page… Saki and Teru?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a young Shino and Rui.
DeleteAh, that does seem to fit better.
