  2. Thanks for the chapter. From the score it seems Awai did get a baiman East 2.
Awai tried her best this round surely. Oh and Saki character poll yay.

  3. Thank you for the translation!!

Tbh... 8 (?) full pages dedicated to the most average Saki win is overdone imo lol

I'm also curious what Awai was doing here and what kind of hand she was aiming for. She's not aiming for 13 orphans or a one-suit hand, so building a hand that goes beyond her initial baiman seems unlikely. It's possible she's opting out of double riichi to avoid dealing into Saki, but based off of her semi-finals match with Shizu, it seems implied that she can still call kan and get kan-dora without double riichi. She should still be completely capable of calling the kan and just hoarding the rinshan draw by not calling riichi, and build around that....

    1. Yes, maybe she can call kan without double riichi and hoard the rinshan tile but wouldn't that be a completely different move? For this particular technique, she just needs the right starting hand apparently. The question is what kind of starting hand is that?

    2. She could also call double riichi and skip the kan!

I truly have no idea what she was doing here.
