the only formidable player in achiga were basically Kuro and shizu. dont get me wrong, others were great, but not really on national Monster levels.
meanwhile other have genuine monster class player and other members; each with unique abilty , bunch of great player and various competition winner from outside japan, and dark horse main characters school whose also have monster class skill (saki, tacos final vers, and arguably hisa's bad wait).
so yeah, they really need a buff to actually have a role and fight on national Final levels
I mean, yeah, they are (or were) clearly the worst team by far, so some kind of buff wouldn't have been bad. But Kuro of all people suddenly being THIS strong over night (she's single handedly doing more than Toki in the semis tbh) is kind of too much. Just compare to Yuki, who is able to compete by being at the peak of her power (+ Hisa's bad wait power apparently) for just this match, it seems. Meanwhile Kuro has the permanent power of yakuman roning the champion.
Kuro aren't weak player. Her power's restriction made her weak and predictable. Even then, in the semi-final with Teru and Toki, Kuro rarely got direct hit so she probably have decent skill.
Now, that Kuro have more options in play style, her true potential is shown.
The thing is that not even Kuro is sure if this new power has any drawback. Also, the impact it had was due to the surprise element, once everyone realize it they won't Riichi so easily. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Satoha just go and declare Riichi with a dora as her winning tile to trick Kuro into giving it to her.
Oh, the Tacos Spinning Chair move is back from chapter 14. Last time she got a dealer Baiman (though with Mihoko's help), so what will she get this time?
i am actually liking this achiga buff.
