      I suspect it may lead to a power-up. Powering her up for the prefecturals was all about making her feel more comfortable. Changing the hand to what she uses at home might accomplish the same

      I think the same.
      Nodoka is the only one who lacks any special ability and looking on her latest games she needs to step up somewhat, she actually always loses points in nationals which is not really satisfying for her "genius" hype. Since she is left-handed using her left hand may lead her to get better draws/hands/scores/reads/whatsoever.
