I always wonder if Saki's power has different "types"?, I know she's mostly known for her Rinshan Kaihou,
but I wonder on how she incorporates +/- 0 and her 3 consecutive kans to make the Rinshan or just tsumo?
I just always remember the anime with Fire(Red)/Water-Moon(Blue) with Koromo, and that pressure with Himematsu, Eisui and Miyamori. It's like she has 2 personalities with that.
I certainly want to know on how she started her +/-0. She mentioned that +/-0 was a product of her family's when they were playing but I kinda want to see/read it,
And as I remember, Rinshan was taught by Teru. And Teru definitely knows how to use it too, like I want to see more of Miyanaga sisters
I always wonder why the Japanese fans I saw discussing Saki, always calls her a demon king without given context. Is it related to it? Because as far as I remember reading her skills are related to the flowers blooming/mountain. But again I also remember how she "forces"? her way in that qualifying round with himeeisumiya
it could be because she's referred to as a demon in the first/second chapter of the manga. imho tho, saki's likely referred to as a "demon king" because the inspiration behind her character was a demon from an older work. ritz's very first serialized manga was some supernatural manga where the deuteragonist looked exactly like saki (with the other protag looking exactly like nodoka). saki in this manga was ultimately revealed to be an incredibly powerful and old demon.
there was even an japanese AU I read about Saki where she brings terror not just the game but for the players mind. Would say they really enjoyed writing her that way.
Do you think it possible for saki to stop awai combination of move 3 and 4 the same way she stopped time dandalion in the first half or this time it different?
That's an interesting way to justify Nelly dealing into lots of hands, huh? Also, what happened to Awai making an effort to remember Nelly's name? At least she isn't calling her the italian girl anymore... (I wonder if she knows where Georgia is... or tha Maldives, for that matter^^) Thanks for the translations.
I can't believe they did that. A player like Nelly would NEVER discard pei that way. She felt something coming from Awai and she knew Awai has already won a yakuman earlier, and now she discards that tile? Unbelievable!
Do you think it possible for saki to stop awai combination of killer move 3 and 4 just like she stopped time dandalion in the first half or is it going to be more difficult this time?
Then Nelly should have lost 13000 (12000+1000) points at the end of chapter 293. Because if she lost 19000, then Nelly's points should be 194400 not 200400
Good point. But Ritz specifically said Awai's statement was wrong. Perhaps Ritz decided to keep Awai's 12000 after all? Or the score in this chapter should be 194400? Who knows?
Hello Akio, good morning. I just wanted to thank you for all your work over the years. Saki was one of my first introductions to the world of manga and mahjong, and it's also one of my all-time favorite manga. I've been reading the manga for 15 years, and you, my friend, do an excellent job. I hope you can read my message. Take care and greetings from Mexico. P.S.: Who is your favorite character from the entire Saki universe? In my case, I've always been a fan of Nodoka from the very beginning (I love her so much)(wife).
I get that Ritz has to take down Nelly somehow but that pei discard was a little too obvious. Anyone in that situation would've played full defense, especially given Shizu's point spread preventing Awai or Saki from going too hard with tsumos.
Agreed. Feels like Ritz tried too hard to justify Awai saying she'll show off her technical side on top of maintaining a rock paper scissors-like hierarchy for their powers (Saki > Awai > Nelly > Shizuno > Saki+Awai
It's very likely that the point Awai got on the last page wasn't yakuman, although it's a possibility. I hope the next chapter ends with Shizuno getting the point that stops Awai, not Saki or even Nelly.

I just wish there are more Saki-focused chapters.
Yes, it would be nice to know more about Saki's abilities. When it's her turn to be dealer, we'll have a few Saki-focused chapters, I guess.

Oh and thank you for this chapter!
DeleteSaki's skills are like Teru's mirror, she has the power of field control once she knows the skills of the opponents, hence she can get +/- 0

So what was Awai wanted to keep for the individuals?
ReplyDeleteSome of that juice she stores in her boobs, I guess.
DeleteIt must take time to recharge.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the TL!
ReplyDeleteIs it possible for a player to get yakuman points from just one other player?
ReplyDeleteYes, if the player wins by ron.

ReplyDeleteThey should be. There hasn't been any correction from Ritz at least.

DeleteFavorite character? Probably... Hisa.
A man of taste
DeleteMekimeki just casually joining the Frieren looking up meme, I see.

From Awai's starting hand, she had every honor except North. Without discarding a single honor tile it can only be daichisei since kokushi is gone.
DeleteThank you!
