Another cute one. It seems that everybody met everybody before. And we reiterate one of the central themes of Saki, the power of friendship. Having other people around who can help makes life less hard.
Thanks as always for the translation. Presumably next chapter we'll get back to playing mahjong.
ty for the translation! i'm very curious where this cutscene actually takes place. i initially thought awai went to the nara to see the stars , so i felt saki's tie-in here to be kinda random. but when i think about it nara is too far from tokyo for an impromptu trip, so it makes more sense that awai went east towards nagano, and that shizu/her grandpa, traveled to nagano/east tokyo for a mountain hiking trip.
i also looked at an old chapter with saki's/teru's old house (the one that got burnt down and the reporter lady was looking into), and it's kinda cool that there's a visible mountain range in the background there, so saki saying she lives right by the foot of them doesnt feel too random now
anyways i'm bringing attention to all of this cuz i think it's going to relate to how saki overcomes shizu's powers. it looks like saki has been a mountain girl her whole life as well.
it seems that 2 out of 4 characters appearing in the final round are related to mountains. what is not yet known is nelly's character, whether she is related to mountains or not.

"Everybody met everybody before" you summarize it perfectly.
DeleteBack to mahjong I guess but I wonder how Saki escaped.
That flashback rubs me the wrong way. It's just too much of a coincidence (for no discernable reason either).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the translation.
Too much of a coincidence? Yes, definitely but I still enjoy these kind of encounters between characters.

DeleteI had the same thought process about the location. Nara? Nagano? I think you're right about Shizu traveling closer to Tokyo for a hiking trip.

DeleteThanks for the chapter. Among her senpais' Takami was lost.
ReplyDeleteThank you
ReplyDeleteWhat can this kids be doing now, indeed?
ReplyDeleteThx for translations!
