This chapter follows after 124b (or more like 124b is really chapter 125). This is different from what they did last time when they didn't skip a number, so you never know what to expect.
Ritz pointed out an error in the tournament bracket. This has been fixed in the translation.
And, as expected, no Toki chapter this month.
Yay, Vietnam's on the global mahjong list! So excited to see how we play! <3

DeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteWe've moved pretty fast from middle school -> international professional, but I'm excited to see!
Ritz has been really good at linking her characters to the physical space of where they are from, at least for her Japanese characters, so I'm interested to see how much we get into these international players.
I also hope we get to see the players in some detail and not just breeze through the matches but Shinohayu has been a bit light on mahjong lately.
DeleteThanks for translations!
ReplyDeletePoland mentioned! Probably china will go through for the 1st table though, more relevant
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to see your country mentioned, of course, but match 1 was already played and Pakistan won (see page 5).
DeleteThis is a world where riichi mahjong is a global phenomenon, the strongest countries might not be the ones you would expect.
That said, there is a real World Riichi Championship but it's an individual tournament, not a team one.
Deletedamn you're right about that, didn't quite connect it while reading, sadge
Deleteas for the WRC, I almost qualified for it :p

ReplyDeleteInternational mahjong at last. Seeing that big bracket... The choice of participants is interesting. Are Greenland and Hong Kong independant countries in Saki world? I don't think we'll see much mahjong there; at most we'll have a few chapters of one of Shino's game(s).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the translation!
Not just independent countries but certain regions also can take part apparently. That's what it says in page 5.
DeleteAmazing chapter! Thanks for TL.
