One of the things I like about Saki is how bad things happen, but the world still feels friendly. Sure, a witch may kidnap your mom and wipe her memory, but she still doesn't seem like a terrible person when we meet her.
Yes, the witch was nicer than expected in this chapter but I wonder what would have happened to Nagatake if she had been as strong as Niemann thought she was. Plot twist: Nagatake feigned weakness to avoid Nana's fate.
yeah same, i am personally not a fan of this chapter. it was frustrating to see kanna not ask questions about shino's mom, and there wasn't any showcase of niemann's and nagatake's mahjong skill. this whole chapter left me wondering why the hell was niemann introduced to the maincast this early if she wasn't adding anything to the narrative. the only thing i can think of is that this is a cheap setup for future drama if kanna decides to keep quiet on the encounter from shino.
on a positive note, shinohayu never fails to have such exciting moments!
I guess what we learned is that Niemann is actively searching for strong players from around the world. The question now is what happens when she finds one. Other than that, I was also hoping for Kanna to ask more questions.
