Saki Achiga-hen (Live-Action) Special Episode Subs

The special episode that comes after the four TV drama episodes. Done in collaboration between Dong Meu Quy Toc Translator and Akio Translations.

Important: these subs were timed with the TBS version. The only difference between versions is a movie teaser in the middle but, if you use the wrong version, the subs in the second half of the episode will be out-of-sync by 30s. So use the TBS version.

How to watch
1) Put the subs file in the same folder as the raw video file.
2) Rename the files so they both have the same name.
3) Play the raws with VLC and the subs will automatically appear.

We'll probably do the movie in June or July, after the DVD release. No promises, though.

Happy watching!

  1. Afterthoughts:

+ The extra scenes after Koromo's match.
+ Arata actually asking question of the irony of facing
    Nodoka.
    + Censoring Saki's match.
    + Telling a summary of Teru's 1st year backstory.
    + Kod-Koromo.
    + Awai's bullying.

    - The moon.
    - No visual view of edgy version of Hagiyoshi.
    - Episode 4 said there is only 1 month before the
nationals yet they went back with almost 2 months in the
special (assuming 7 weeks training + 1 week for the
nationals, probably just that it's lesser than 2 months
so the writter went with 1 month/it's how Japanese
assume the months, saa. Lack of knowledge for this)
    - Hanada's backstory got shortened, also subara not
    subara enough.
    - A little spoiler about Teru for those that didn't read
    the manga though.

Besides most of the minor complains I'm actually satisfied with this. Thanks for the subs!!

    1. Interesting! Thanks for your thoughts.

In fact, Ako's answer to Arata's question made me realize that Arata vs Nodoka is actually a good thing. This way they can all play at full power without the weird feeling of trying to defeat their friend face to face.

Sumire telling the events from 2 years ago is a nice touch. Kinda wish they had "shown" the events but that would be too much, I guess.

The 7 weekends of travelling + 10 days training camp + a few days of rest comes from the manga.
So the time between prefecturals and nationals must be a little over 2 months. The live-action just shortened that to 1 month but they left the line about the 7 weekends unchanged. A writing slip up, I imagine.

    2. Yeah. The answer that Ako gave is simple yet convincing for me that I'm actually surprised about how easy the answer is to the question that has been floating around my mind for so long.

I remembered the 7 weeks training and a training camp but not the number of days of the training camp and before the nationals so I just threw in a week as an estimation(I'm lazy to check). But yeah probably it's a slip up by the writter.

    1. Yes, we are working on that too. Should be done in 10-15 days, I think.
