Longest chapter in a while. 42 pages. It begins as a slightly silly slice of life but it turns more serious later on. Enjoy:
Shinohayu ch39 (Mega) v2
Shinohayu ch39 (Mediafire) v2
EDIT v2: To avoid any misunderstandings, I changed Shino's lines at the top of page 11. The original japanese version carried a double entendre that is now lost in translation but this is closer to what Shino really meant. Sorry for the confusion.
Thx for translations :)

ReplyDeleteWhat's with Yamamoto calling Shino "Shiratsuki-kohai"? I was under the impression that "kohai" came off as condescending when used as an honorific, so senpais usually address their kouhais as they would a younger person.
ReplyDelete"-kouhai" is rarely used, that's true, but it would only be condescending if used in the wrong tone. In this case, Yamamoto greets Shino in a humorous tone. It's supposed to be a little funny precisely because usually she wouldn't greet her like that.

ReplyDelete>No, this is a mistranslation.
>She said she'd be happy if Richardson married someone, but would also be kind of sad.
It's not a mistranslation, it's a sentence with a "double entendre". It's written in an ambiguous way by the author (as a joke) so it's difficult to translate the double meaning.
DeleteThe idea that she's talking about her (Shino) marrying Richardson is supposed to briefly cross your mind (because of the くれたら "kuretara") but then you realize that's not what she really meant.
I didn't want that double meaning to be totally lost so that's what I translate it as I did. Maybe I should have added an explanatory note or something.
Yeah, making a little * and then have an extra page with explanation of them would be fine.
