We've finally made it to chapter number 300. This more or less coincides with the 20th anniversary of Saki's serialization, so it's 300 chapters in 20 years.
Thanks for the chapter. So did Shizuno win tenhou? Because there was no discards in the pond. If so the implications are terrifying. Before her powers were more of controlling the deep walls and slighly affecting the beginning, but now it's like she controls the entire wall. In chapter 298 when Awai was controlling the middle part of the walls, Shizuno could feel it even the first quarter of walls, which is beginning of the walls. Awai's starting hand was too bad. I suspect Shizuno didn't just negate her powers but deliberately gave a bad starting hand.
I wonder what she will hit Awai and Nelly with in the next chapter. After all, Shizu has to make up nearly 100,000 points and equalize the pool of all the competitors.
I see that others are speculating about Tenhou. But doesn't the last panel contradict that?
Big thanks for another chapter, Akio. Pozdrawiam i powodzenia!
Thanks for the translation! I just got back to the final match and was surprised to see that there are only two rounds left. Could someone please tell me whether Saki still has a chance to win, and what kind of hand she would need to pull it off?
Saki's chances will be affected by Shizuno. Can Shizuno reduce Awai and Nelly's points to within reach of the other two players before Saki becomes the dealer?
Thanks!

It kind of does look like a tenhou doesn't it. After reaching the peak of the mountains, you've reached as close to heaven as possible.
DeleteThanks for the chapter.
Awai's bad starting hand is exactly the 5-shanten she gives to others. After "climbing" Awai enough, has Shizu become able to use her abilities?
Deleteit really is teasing a tenhou, isn't it?
Deletethough the skeptic in me feels like it could also become a closed kan.
Ritz really be edging us with that last panel lol
thanks for the chapter!

ReplyDeleteSaki is last dealer in this match so she could always win by getting lots of cheap hands.
