I said it in the last chapter's comments too, but Shiraitodai has been set up as the underdog after their loss to Achiga. The story of the finals so far has been Teru and Sumire doing their hardest to stop Achiga's devastating winning streaks and score some points, with Kiyosumi and Rinkai chiming in every now and then. Giving a flashback powerup to the underdog is perfectly natural.
(Yes, Teru got more points than Kuro, but since Achiga overcame a 120,000 point lead in the semis she needed to get a large lead for her team to have any chance.)
That's complicated because Shiraitodai come here as Champions but only Teru and Sumire were in the winning team. The other three are untested just like Achiga. Their status as favorites was partly because of school reputation.
The true underdogs are probably Kiyosumi who have no reputation (like Achiga) but they also lost to Rinkai in semifinals.
