Saki 200: Open

Round 200!! This chapter is called kaihou which means "open" or "opening" and there's a good reason for that, but it feels we just closed a chapter that was opened almost 10 years ago.

  1. So...
Indeed, this theory about 9 lamps being a chuurenpotou was a reality. :)
    Thx for translation :)

  3. RIP Teru. At least she spared everyone else by not getting a yakuman with the 7p.

On another note, it's nice to see a streak of chapters without a break and without unfinished panels/pages (although Hayari looks weird on page 2).

  4. this chapter bring some more interesting info.

you see, back in teru's flashback,
rune was considered the weakest among the five person teru's choses (tough call between her and yamada, ex 5 strongest team on team before defeated)

and now, she is the mvp of the team

    1. Yes, nice observation. Although she was the mvp at the regional tournament apparently. We don't know how she did at the nationals. But I guess the point is that she got stronger after the flashback.

    2. I interpreted that scene in the opposite way. In chapter 171, I thought that the manager says that Watanabe Rune was one of the best in the club, second only to Yamada who was presumably the "ace" pre-Teru.

    3. I guess it can be read that way too. Perhaps the only thing Ritz was trying to say is that some of the pre-Teru regulars can become as strong as some of Teru's chosen ones after receiving Teru's advice. But it doesn't matter if Yamada is among the strongest or the weakest because the regular team is not made of the 5 strongest individuals.

  5. Hmm ok that explains the sound. Still, kinda wondering if Kuro can actually stop Teru IF Yuuki didn't call that pon. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Guess we will find out on the 2nd hanchan(maybe?). Though if Kuro can actually stop her with the help of Shizu's power, kinda wondering what kind of OP demon Shizu will be when she plays.

    Thanks for the translation!!

    1. Extra: But then it was never stated if Kuro is in tenpai or not. So I guess it's still a mystery.

  6. I just rewatched Achiga-hen. I guess this chapter explains Awai's comment on one episode when she told Teru she didn't use her "gigigi".
