New spinoff: A male version of Saki?

And yet another Saki spinoff has been announced. This time, it appears to be a male genderswap of the Saki characters under the title of 咲-Saki- re:KING’S TILE DRAW. The art is provided by female mangaka Sakurako Gokurakuin (author of Sekirei). It will be published through the Gangan Online App starting on the 25th of March (coinciding with the restart of Achiga-hen). King's Tile Draw is the English name for Rinshan Kaihou.

From left to right: male versions of Nodoka, Saki, Hisa, Yuuki and Mako, I think...
A comment from Kobayashi Ritz about the picture above reads:

These are the Kiyosumi five!
Can you tell who is who? I can!
Names and such have been changed a bit
so they are in fact different characters!

It may follow the same pattern as the Toki manga, where the author creates both story and art with maybe just a few guidelines from Ritz. Anyway, it seems Saki's popularity is still high so new spinoffs are popping up like mushrooms, each one weirder than the last.

It seems Spectacular Scanlations are ready to provide a translation which you'll probably find on mangadex (when it's released) but I'll also add a link to it here, just like with MakoMeshi.

  1. That's just sneaky roundabout way of remaking early Saki to remind get new people in/remind everyone what was it about. Then they animate it, and then they announce S3 of Saki proper. Pro gamer 4D chess move.

    1. I wonder if it will be a remake or a different story.

  3. What? What!? That's a hilarious idea, I love it!
I just hope it's not going to be too similar to Saki, we don't need a male version of every character, it would be better for other schools to be more original I think.
(Wait, will we have female Kyoutarou as well?)
Definitely looking forward to this as well. So, we will have 6 different Saki mangas going along at the same time? That's crazy!

    1. Yeah and that makes 7 spin-offs total, counting the Ritz manga. Is there any other series with so many serialized spin-offs, I wonder.
